obstacles in Information Technology in Eductional Practice

Technology is very important in our life nowadays especially to educational practices, this is one of the best way of improving our educational system. This can be very useful tool as an instructional material. Like ICT program, they implemented ICT as a tool for teaching. Though ICT has a big help on us as an instructional materials in lesson disscussion, there are also obstacles in integrating ICT education and we have to be aware of that.

The following are the most significant obstacles in ICT educational practices:

*ICT tools are changing too fast to keep current.
- we all know that technology is the fastest changing field compared to other field. Every year there is always a new model of hardware with a high processing and people find difficulties on how to adopt and deal this newly model.

*extra time and effort needed after integrating ICT tools for teaching
- there is always a change in ICT environment so educators needed extra time and effort to learn new tool and how to manage it.

*the network connectivity was poor
- this kind of obstacles simply mean that the network connectivity is not reliable sometimes we found out while searching a web we notice that there is a disconnection of the network and this is due to web server maintenance, virus or hacker attack.

* the management did not have any evaluation in integration of ICT tools in teaching
- eavaluation plays an important in assessing and providing feedback on job performance. This is often used as one of the criteria for promotion purpose.

These factors are some major obstacles in ICT educational practice . So it is very important for everyone of us to be aware of the following problem of this tool so that we cannot find difficulties in using this kind of tool. The government should pay attention for these kind of problem for the students to learn faster and easily.

Regarding with the Prevailing ICT Policies and Strategies, the ICT Policies and strategies in some countries are very in demand and being implemented like New Zealand. New Zealand has the world's highest access to telecommunications, they are always updated in the new technology.
While Australia has become the pioneer in using ICT for educational purposes. In Hongkong, the information Technology for Learning in a New Era: Five-year Strategy was being implemented in 1998-2003.The five-year strategy has succeeded in laying a solid foundation for IT in education in Hong Kong. Malaysia has implemented their first computer system in the year 1996 for them to enhance their education and their training program. In Singapore they use ICT program for the students to have the ability to think independently and creatively, to be competent and confident problem-solvers, and to be life-long learners and they found out that ICT is the solution. I know Philippines is developing a modern technology, they are trying to reach out to be updated for the new generations. The Philippines found out that ICT policies and strategies is useful tool for a life-long learning for education that will help the learner enhance thier capacity in doing things. This program can help for the students and teachers to be aware of the modern technology nowadays. And I am hoping that may all the people here in the Philippines will be aware of this program. This ICT program can be very useful for everybody to enhance, broaden, and to develop the Filipino learning capacity.
